Blogs are Inevitable
In this day and age blogs are Inevitable and GBDesign have been holding off until the dieing days. There are a few reasons why we have introduce blogs into our CMS and I want to take some time to explain this process and why GBDesign decided that Blogs are inevitable.
Our Clients
Our clients have been asking for a number of years for a Blog style interface for GBDesign's CMS system. For a long time we have stated that creating rich content and unique naviation system makes a website standout. However over the past few years websites have started to offer best of both worlds. Offering a clean custom design with a standard blog style navigation.
This method has proved popular as website visitors are able to navigate your site without having to look around to work out how the navigation system works. If a visitor is not able to get to your products then how are they able to buy!
Another affect is that Google have invested a lot of time and money in indexing Blogs, posts and Facebook and Twitter feeds!
SEO
With google investing so much time in reading and indexing blogs then it's vital that any website that is serious about it's ranking has a blog style section to their site. This needs to be updated on a regular basis to make sure the SEO spiders keep coming back for more.
It's found that poeple are heavy reader of blog style websites where the articles are sugested to the visitor. This is becuase website visitors sometime don't know exactly what they are searching for. If the site they are on looks like it could deliver their required information, they are more likely to stay on the site. Blog navigations are perfect at this task as each page has multiple links to related blogs.
Navigation
Ok I know we have said navigation a thousand times already but there is major power in having a system that automatically adds new blogs onto your website without yo having to edit the HTML or add your developer to update the menu to include your new page! A blog post is automatically added to the menu system, category system and date picker system without you having to worry! This is priceless...

We now offer a blog sytle system to all of our existing clients and new clients free of charge. Simple place the words "/blog/home" in your URL to access your blog. Adding new pages in done using the existing CMS. It really is that easy!
Improvments
Over the next few months we will be working on our PageRanking software that will allow you to quickly see the status of your pages regarding search engine optimization. This will tie into our "Related Blogs" section that you get at the bottom of the blog post. This will be improved so the weight of the blog is relating to the current blogs keywords/tags.

My blog page does't look right!
Nothing in this world is easy, sometime your blog will not work with your design 100%. if this is the case then please get in touch. There might be some custom code we need to include to get your blog working perfectly. There will by our standard hourly charge for this but we do not expect the work to take longer than a hour (£100).
Why does ot not look right!
We have hundreds of clients with different website designs. It's almost impossible to make a system look 100% perfect without having to update the design. We have tried to make the blog system as genaric as possible so that it will fit into most peoples website design, however if your site contains mutiple side menus then it's unlikely that the blog will look 100% perfect without some work being carried out. Sorry but we are good, but not that good :)
