Chorley Travellers Green Belt Land

Chorley Urban Green Belt Land
Chorley Travellers are looking to live on land that they own, the outrage! However the problem arises due the land being classified as Green Belt. In a bid to stop serious urban development and to protect rural England, Green Belt was introduces. The idea is to stop any development from spanning large areas and creating a “Concrete Briton”.

The travellers are looking to settle down on Hut Lane, Charnock is a range of 14 caravans however a “Stop Notice” has been issues by Chorley Council to make sure no further travellers move onto the land.
Chorley council are currently looking over the application that the Chorley travellers have filled however I would not wait in anticipation. Even today there is a stigma about caravan parks and the notion of turning into America’s trailer parks. As someone who lived in a static trailer for over 2 year I open my eyes to the possibility of cheaper homes. Not all people wish to place large amounts of debt on themselves just to put a roof over their head.

Also the fact that the land belongs to the travellers posses more questions. Why where they allowed to buy Green Belt Land, and if it belongs to them, why can’t they live there?
