Chorley MP calls for abolition of VAT on school uniforms

under the current rule for VAT setup over 30 years ago, children's clothing for school are TAX except along as the clothes have a school logo and deemed the correct size for a school child.

Due the to rise in children's weight one in three children are overweight and therefore do not qualify for the TAX break. Due to this reason Chorley's MP is calling for the VAT to be abolished.

Whilst researching for this article I there where a few issues that hindered me. First why is the Chorley MP worrying about a VAT price on clothes when the big picture seams to be that one in three children are overweight! These are a signs of the time, the obesity problem within the UK is getting swept under the carpet. A government official makes these requests without truly thinking what they are saying! Are we to bleieve that having overweight kids is ok and acceptable?

I agree that the charge for VAT for fat kids is ridiculous and some what archaic, however is you wish to save money on your school uniforms, stop shoving junk food down your kids mouth! You save on food and on clothes. Win win...
